How to block Incoming number in Avaya PBX ?
Is it possible to block incoming calls from a particular number in Avaya IP Office pbx system ? Yes is the answer. It is a bit tricky. At the moment it is not very straight forward in Avaya Manager (Control panel tool for the PBX). But can be achieved through a few steps. Please see below supposing we are trying to block the below specific number 06543210
1.Create short Code for barring call
Check Short Codes tab to see whether any short code for Barred exist. If so note the code down. If not create a new short code for example : *88 and select the feature Barred . Press Ok to carry on to next task.
Code: *88
Feature: Barred
Line group ID mentioned here in short codes doesn’t not matter for this purpose. Keep other entries including this as default one.
2. Create a new Incoming route for blocking the number
Click on Incoming Call Routes menu and Add new one . Add the entries in the route as advised below
Bearer Capability: Any voice
Line Group ID: Choose the line group id of the incoming lines
Incoming number : *
Incoming CLI : [ Add the number to be blocked here ]
Keep the other options in this page as default.
Navigate to Destinations TAB and in the Destination field enter the short code which we have created. Here it is *88
Press OK and Save the configuration. Now the system is set to block any incoming calls from this number . Like wise you can add as many entries as we need. Contact us if you got any querries or
